Guidelines and Answers

Faqs

  • All booking is done through our booking software. It has the most up-to-date availability. If you don’t see a time that you need available, message us on Instagram.

  • We always recommend getting your spray tan 2 days before your event. Otherwise, 1-3 days prior will do. You should book your appointment as soon as you know you need one! Some days tend to be busier than others.

  • You can wear whatever you are most comfortable with during your tan! We offer disposable hair nets, bras, and underwear. No jewelry and hair up.

Post spray, we recommend loose, dark clothing. No bra, leggings, or any tight-fit clothing. If you are marinating overnight (aka sleeping pre-rinse) you must wear long sleeves and pants to bed. This prevents transfer to the palms.

  • Check out our Guidelines page by clicking here for a complete breakdown of what you need to know!

  • All solutions will be available at your appointment so you decide what’s best for your schedule, needs, etc. The Aperol Spritz: 8-12 hour rinse time. The Mimosa: 1-4 hour rinse time. Both solutions take about 18 hours to fully develop.

  • With proper aftercare, our spray tan can last anywhere from 7-10 days. Be sure to keep your skin moisturized and stay away from any product that is not spray tan-friendly. Avoid products like retinol, alcohols, fragrances, sulfates, parabens, etc. all of which, STRIP YOUR TAN!

  • As always, we recommend that any concerns be addressed with your OBGYN first.

We are sunless tanning professionals, not licensed medical professionals and while we have sprayed numerous expecting mommas-to-be with our naturally derived solutions, every pregnancy and their accompanying risks are different. We are more than happy to provide a list of ingredients to review with your doctor.

Preparation

Guidelines

  • Waxing should be completed at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. Shaving should be completed with a razor that lacks a moisture strip. Stay away from a body scrub or loofah combo as most are oil-based and will leave a residue. Instead, opt for an exfoliating mitt.

  • Showering should be completed at least four hours prior to tanning to allow your pH levels to neutralize. If you must shower within four hours, run cold water at the end of your shower. Avoid bar soaps/cream-based body washes (Dove specifically) as these can ruin your tan.

  • Forgo any lotions, oils, deodorant, makeup, or perfume on the day of your appointment. All of these can create a barrier on the skin that the bronzer will not adhere to.

  • Wear dark, loose-fitting clothing with open-toe sandals. Please note that the bronzer solution may transfer to your items, but it is water soluble and should wash out.

  • Complete manicures and pedicures the day prior to your tan. If complete day-of tan, please forgo any oil or lotions that your nail technician might apply on you. If completed days after your tan, the tan may become uneven due to soaking, acetone, oils, lotions, etc.

  • Tanning should always be the last beauty treatment to be completed due to the barriers that spa treatment products can create. Complete all facials and massages the day prior to your tan.

Maintenance

Guidelines

  • Do not get wet or sweat until your initial rinse. This means no showering, working out, lotions, or liquid foundations on the skin until after you take your initial rinse. If you have pets, do not let them lick you.

  • If you touch your skin while your tan is developing, this could result in the bronzer transferring and possibly staining the palms of your hands.

  • If you do not rinse at your designated time, your tan may develop too light or too dark. Do not use soap. The temperature of your water should be lukewarm. If you see streaks after getting out of the shower, hop back in and use your hand to guide the remaining bronzer off.

  • The more hydrated your skin is the longer your tan will last. Your moisturizer should be free of mineral oil and artificial fragrance. You may use a tan extending lotion that contains DHA after day three. In addition, be sure to drink a lot of water.

  • Avoid using any loofahs or wash rags during your showers. It is best to wash with hands only in areas where needed (pits & privates) to ensure a long-lasting tan. A gel-based body wash is recommended.

  • Avoid swimming in the pool or ocean for extended periods of time, long hot showers or baths, saunas, and excessive sweating. Your tan will not last very long if you are planning to do any of these activities.
